The Folk of the Air Book Tag #2 // new and improved ORIGINAL tag!

Hello, hello! My name is Xandra and I made the original Folk of the Air Book Tag! 👑 🗡 🐍 Based on The Cruel Prince, The Wicked King, and The Queen of Nothing.

Last year, about a week or so after The Wicked King was released, I created this original tag. No one had done it before, so I jumped at the chance! However, there was one problem… The Queen of Nothing had not been released yet.

But now, here we are! The trilogy is now complete! And to honor my word from last time, I have added a few more questions to this tag, exclusively relevant to The Queen of Nothing!

(The questions are generally the same as last time, but I changed the wording of some of them and, of course, added several questions at the end.)

RULES:

  1. You must tag the original creator (Xandra @ Starry Sky Books)
  2. You should probably read The Cruel Prince first! (You don’t have to, but that would be nice.)
  3. Answer the questions as best as possible. (You can skip or omit a question if you can’t think of an answer!)
  4. Try to tag at least 3 other bloggers.

JudeA character who could kill you in your sleep.

“Many of them” should be my official answer, especially Jude.

But I’ll say the same thing as last time, and go with any of the monsters from the Rick Riordan universe.

38.png

Cardan: A character who seems like a Bad Guy, but is more complex than you thought.

I think I have to pick Thyon Nero from Strange the Dreamer for this one!

When I first read Strange the Dreamer, I really disliked him. He was so mean! But we all know there was a little bit more to him later on. 😉

39.png

Locke: A plot twist that made you want to throw the book.

There was a twist at the end of Stalking Jack the Ripper, and I Did Not like it. 😦

Taryn: A character who deceived you.

Well… I’ll admit, I’m easily deceived.

But as I said in the original version of this tag, I’m going to still say Jax from Gemina. (I mean, I don’t remember what he did, but I’m pretty sure he hurt my feelings. 😦 )

Vivi: A book that was significantly different from the others in its series.

You know… I haven’t read enough series to accurately answer this question. :/

But I will say: The Ship of the Dead by Rick Riordan was unsatisfying for me, and very much unlike what I had expected, compared the rest of the series.

43.png

Valerian: A character who should get stabbed out of the plot.

As I have said many times before, I haven’t read many books with villains or bad people! I’m pretty sure absolutely no one cares about Valerian.

My answer for this one is Mayor Prentiss from The Knife of Never Letting Go.

37.png

Oak: A small character you would protect at all costs.

I will still protect my small, young Harry Potter. 😌 (And also, Baby Yoda.)

40.png

Madoc: A relentless character who will stop at nothing to get what they want.

Well… at this moment, I can’t think of anyone else other than Madoc and Minya, from Strange the Dreamer (and a little bit in Muse of Nightmares).

41.png

The Serpent: A mysterious character or book you know little about.

I actually… don’t know anything about Rules for Vanishing, except 1) it’s spooky, and 2) I want to read it.

44.png

The Cruel Prince: A book that surprised you with a good twist.

It does not take very much to surprise me, but one book which did a few years ago was Because You’ll Never Meet Me by Leah Thomas. It just didn’t seem like it would have a twist at the end!

45.png

The Wicked King: A sequel you thought was better (or worse) than the first in the series.

The Ask and The Answer, from the Chaos Walking series!

20758103-2.jpg

It was somewhat longer than the first book, but also more exciting and all of the stakes were just so much higher. So much chaos happened. (I love this series and I need to read it again!)

46.png

The Queen of Nothing: A series with one or more characters who change a lot over time.

Okay, I’m going to cheat and say this series, The Folk of the Air! Honestly, every book felt very different to me, but in a good way, y’know? The characters developed over time, sometimes a little too much, but I still loved them by the end of the series.

  1. Such an amazing tag! Can’t wait to give it a go! I get what you mean about Folk of the Air series developing the characters so much – so different as each book goes on but it feels so natural!

  2. AHHH Thank you for tagging me! I can’t wait to do this one again! I feel like I’ll probably miss some *hidden* meaning because I haven’t read QoN yet (oh btw I just realized I need to read your review so I’ll check it out later!) but I’m excited anyway!! I agree so much with your choice of Thyon – actually he ended up being a favorite (favorite ship anyway 😉 ).

  3. Thank you for tagging me 💕💕💕 I’ll try and do this tag as soon as I can!!
Ahh, I love Thyon! There are actually some parts of his character that I can relate to, so I love him even more because of that ❤ Also, I'm one of those weird people who didn't hate Minya in the first book 😂

  4. uhhh I loved this & reading your answers! It’s gonna be hard to answer some of them without using the actual character they’re named after though xD But I might save this TAG and do it later! 😀
