Injuries! Tea! Procrastination! This is the kind of content you and I have to endure when I go through a 24-Hour Readathon, and this time was no exception.
Yes, it’s true. I was slightly injured during this readathon. But not by a book, of course! My books would never hurt me.
Anyways, let’s get on with it. If you would like to see what happened during the first part of my Readathon, check out my Part 1 post!
AFTERNOON:
4:51pm – I started back on Tithe again, and the following exchange happened between myself and I:
Me: Wait, where are the characters? What just happened?
Me: *flips the page back to reveal a gruesome death*
Me: Ah, yes. Lovely.
6:30pm – Tithe is finished! Finally! 😊
I liked it, but I will also post a review soon!
6:33-7:00pm – I had dinner, but… I don’t even remember what it was?
7:02pm – Continued with the audiobook of Hunting Prince Dracula.
Also, sometime during the first part of my Readathon, I discovered that I had accidentally listened to the latter half of HPD a few days ago, and it was very confusing. So it was very hard to keep track of how much I actually read, and how much of it was a re-listen. Oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
7:30-8:30pm – I went on a walk with my family… and I ended up spraining my ankle. 🙃 (Serves me right for venturing outside.)
I stepped on a gap in the road, heard a loud crack, and them my ankle was never the same (for the rest of the readathon, that is).
I eventually hobbled back home and continued my reading with little to no pain. 👍🏼 I’m fine, it’s all fine.
NIGHT:
8:42pm – I started reading… Muse of Nightmares!
9:44pm – At this point, I was really getting sleepy! Like, I almost fell asleep on my book. So I made myself more tea. ☕️ (Page 50)
11:24am – *Internally screaming as Minya ruins everything for Lazlo and Sarai AGAIN* (page 104)
11:52am – I want SLEEP.
12:03am – Yes, FINALLY, something happens to Minya. (page 129)
12:30-12:45am – My sprained ankle began to hurt, so I took a break to wrap it. I hope it helps? We’ll see in the morning.
(Hello, morning Xandra, here. It didn’t help very much.)
1:24am – I started hearing some weird, random noises around the house?
Me, already scared: I don’t know how much longer I’ll last.
1:26am – I swear, something just moved. There is no denying.
1:45am – Is it me or are these chapters funnier than the ones in Strange the Dreamer? (page 187)
2:06am – Ayy, it’s 2:06 and I’m on page 206!
2:50am – I need a break! 😫 (page 231)
3:10am – I’m tired, hungry, and sleepy. The sleep is calling me.
4:22am – Okay, okay. I’m doing it.
I’m going to sleep.
My ankle hurts, I’m hungry, and I’m already in bed. I might as well just… fall asleep.
READATHON PAGE COUNT:
Tithe: 285 pages
Hunting Prince Dracula: about 200 pages?
Muse of Nightmares: 334 pages
TOTAL: 819 pages
Somehow, these Readathons turned into a documentation of me going through the day and occasionally reading, but hey! At least I kind of got a lot done!
Thanks for reading about my Readathon! And if you joined me, let me know! I’d love to hear about how your Readathon day went! 😀

WHOOO a triumphant finish! That ankle injury does not sound fun, though. But you were able to read so much, which is awesome! And that teacup is so cute 😀

I have to know what possesses someone to do this… lol.
I mean I’ve probably done this, but it usually involves a 800+ page book that I just can’t put down.
Good job anyway! And sorry about your ankle!

Well, I do 24-hour readathons because I feel like I won’t dedicate enough time to reading otherwise. 😂
But I don’t think I could read one 800 page book in one day! That’s just too much of the same story for me! And thank you! 🙂

I actually low key participated in your readathon ! I think I only read only 250 pages overall though, but I was able to finish one book so it’s fine! Ahhh, I’m so exited to read Muse of Nightmares WHY HAVEN’T I PICKED IT UP YET?

Also I’m sorry about your ankle! Hope you’re feeling better ❣️

Awesome! 250 pages is still great, and I haven’t even finished either of these books yet 😂 And please read Muse of Nightmares! I have less than 80 pages left, but it’s so good!

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear about your ankle! I managed to sprain mine three days into college (wow that was an Experience) and I remember how bad it was, I hope yours feels better soon!! As for the readathon, I loved participating and it was super fun to read your logs! I still haven’t decided if I am joining in Tuesday, it depends on how tired I am after work lol. I hope it goes super well for you either way though!!

Don’t worry, my ankle is better now. 🙂 Maybe a little sensitive, but still better. I’m sorry to hear about your sprained ankle experience – that sounds terrible!
And thank you! I loved reading your readathon log, too! 😀

I cannot read that late at night/early in the morning I start hearing things myself and every little noise makes me jump 🙂
Hope your ankle feels better!

I usually hear things at night, too! That’s why I have to leave a lot of lights on whenever I do readathons like this! 😂 And thanks!

I hope your ankle gets better soon. I had one year when I seemed to constantly end up doing that /: well technically it was probably only a handful of times but after the third I was sick of it :L I also really need to check out Strange The Dreamer and Stalking Jack The Ripper sometime!!

Thank you, Charlotte! Before this, I hadn’t sprained my ankle in about 8 years, so I can’t imagine spraining it three or more times in one year
I highly recommend Strange the Dreamer! Stalking Jack The Ripper is also good, but it’s not for everyone 🙂

Yeah I have no idea what went wrong for me that year :L I think it was where I was walking though. There were a lot of holes in the ground that were hidden by overgrown grass /:
Thank you (: I’m really intrigued by it, especially as I love Laini Taylor’s writing! I’m hoping I’ll end up enjoying it from the quote that I’ve seen but I’ll have to wait and see.
Hope your ankles okay now (:

omg I love how you set this out! I’m doing a 24 hr readathon next week and I was so confused as to how to blog about it and this has really inspired me. You did great! Especially considering you was reading pretty intense books, I feel like I’ll need something really mushy and lighthearted to keep me going as I’m not sure I can do high fantasy all day lol
Loved these posts and I hope your ankle gets better very soon ❤

Thank you so much, Sarika! 💕 I can’t wait to see what happens on your readathon! I’m glad my post has inspired you 😊 And yeah, it would probably be a good idea to read something lighthearted! Fantasy can be tough to read for a long time! 😂 Good luck on your readathon!

Omigosh, your updates were brilliant. I loved reading it. Hopefully your ankle is feeling better! Bookworms know that outside is dangerous, but I didn’t realize how dangerous. D: Great post! 🙂

Oh no! I hope your sprained ankle is doing okay. Not to make a fuss, but the way you described the cracking sound made me cringe. I’m a wuss. 😂
lol that Muse of Nightmares chapter is pretty hilarious. I recently read Good Omens (cheeky book about the end of the world), and that chapter heading could’ve fit right in. 😛
Also, cute mug! I screamed “Hedwig” inside my mind when I saw it, although I know not everything has to be a Harry Potter reference lol.
