QUESTION 1:
IF YOUR LIFE WERE A BOOK GENRE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Well, considering my life is looking suspiciously very similar to Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell… I’ll go with contemporary.

But if I had to choose an ideal genre to live in, I would choose modern fantasy, like in The Darkest Part of the Forest and The Folk of the Air series by Holly Black. 😉

QUESTION 2:
WHAT VILLAIN FROM A BOOK DO YOU IDENTIFY WITH THE MOST?

Does Cardan count as a villain? Because I was just telling myself the other day that I mysteriously relate to him somehow (don’t ask me how, okay? Let’s just accept it.)… and I think I’ve already mentioned that in a post somewhere, so… 😅

But if I had to choose a real, actual villain… *thinks for a little bit* I honestly can’t come up with anything. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

I guess I just don’t read many books with real villains! 

QUESTION 3:
WHAT PROTAGONIST ARE YOU MOST SIMILAR TO?

Ooooh, this is a tough one.

I often say that I relate to Frances from Radio Silence, but also Harry Potter for many strange reasons.

QUESTION 4:
WHICH BOOK DID YOU CONNECT WITH IN THE PAST THAT YOU NO LONGER DO?

When I first read the Legend series by Marie Lu, I loved it so much. I binge read the whole series within two weeks, which was really fast for me at the time because I was a lot younger and it happened during the school year. I cried when the series ended, and I was so in love with the whole thing.

But now that I look back on the series… I see its flaws, and little things that I would criticize now if I read it today. Due to the new sequel book, I may or may not reread the series, but I probably won’t like it as much as the first time.

QUESTION 5:
WHAT RECENT BOOK READ WOULD YOU LOVE TO BE A CHARACTER IN?

Oh gosh, it’s been so long since I’ve read a book, I – I’ll have to consult Goodreads for this one.

*5 minutes later*

Out of the few books I’ve read this year, I think I would like to be a character in Brandon Sanderson’s Skyward.

Although not everyone connects with the main character Spensa, I feel like I do! I think I could have made an appearance or two as one of her friends. I probably would have gotten along with Rodge pretty well. I could see us three being great friends, haha! Just a bunch of misfits, but still good friends.

QUESTION 6:
HOW DO YOUR READING HABITS SHOW OFF YOUR PERSONALITY?

Um, I guess they do? Sometimes?

I usually take forever to read a book. Either that, or I’ll read it all in 2 days. I guess that kind of reflects on the fact that I’m all over the place! You never know what I’m going to do, or how it will get done! But I will eventually make it happen 🙂

I’m also one of those people who absolutely cannot have a single wrinkle or crease on a book. It pains me to accidentally crush a page, especially if it’s one of my favorite books. But when it comes to school books, I’ll just do whatever the heck I want. 🤣

I suppose that just means that I like to be careful with everything that I own. If I’m going to keep it for a long time, I want it to be in good condition!

QUESTION 7:
WHAT BOOK TAUGHT YOU SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF?

I don’t necessarily think any books taught me something about myself, but some of them did point out how I feel about certain subjects.

For example… (I’m so afraid to talk about this, ahhhh) Rick Riordan’s The House of Hades was the first book I ever read with an LGBT+ character, and I was completely shocked. I was pretty young when I read it, but finding out about this character’s identity impacted me so much. I was literally in shock for about three days after I finished it, and I just couldn’t understand why I felt this way. Part of it had to do with the character, but part of it was also just understanding what that meant for the story and how I interpreted it. I don’t remember where I was going with this anecdote, but long story short, I’m not “afraid” of reading books with other representations. When I was younger, it was just strange to me because I realized that, up until then, most of the characters I read about had been pretty much the same.

Reading diverse books has taught me about the different kinds of people in the world, and that books should be more diverse, so that even younger people can learn about others.

Also! I have read a few books with characters who like to write, and that’s encouraging as well! I love to write, and I like to see characters with similar interests to me. That’s always nice, too.
