The Best Things that Happened to Me in 2018

Happy New Year, everyone! *aggressive party noises in the background*

Here I am, still thinking about 2018. It was a pretty great year for me, and here are several reasons why.

A family trip to New York City!

My family had an amazing time in New York! We were there during Winter break of last year, and it was freezing, but we all had a great time 🙂

We visited the Empire State Building, saw a few shows on Broadway (including Anastasia, which I highly recommend), wandered the city like well-seasoned travelers in 13°F/-10°C weather, and in an attempt to visit as many world-famous libraries as possible, I finally got to visit the New York Public Library (and I even got a library card 😉 )!

The beginning of my new Fantasy novel!

In October 2017, I came up with one of my favorite self-written plots for a novel I’m currently working on! However, I didn’t start writing anything down until Spring 2018 🙂

My family trip to Europe!

Some of my biggest dreams came true when my family and I were able to travel to Europe during the summer! We visited London, Paris, Edinburgh, and Ireland – and it was a wonderful, beautiful trip I will never forget!

I may be writing a post about the whole trip at one point, so there will be more on that later. 😉

A successful semester at University

I don’t talk about school very often, but Fall 2018 marked my first semester at University! I did well and enjoyed it all, especially with some friends by my side 🙂

3 full months of blogging!

A few days ago, I accomplished 3 months of blogging!

It’s been a journey and so much fun to start a blog, which was something I had been thinking about for a long time. Thank you (yes, you and everyone else who has ever read a post from my blog) for supporting me!

26 books read!

And finally, I completed 26 books over the course of the year!

I believe that’s actually the most books I’ve ever read in a year 😀 And for 2019, I’m aiming even higher, and I hopefully will read 50 books! Wish me luck!

I may have missed a few things, but these were some of my favorite parts about 2018!

Talk with me!

What were your favorite things about 2018? 🙂

  1. I’m glad you had a great 2018! And ooh, I didn’t know you wrote books too!! So lovely to meet a fellow writer.

2018 was great for me. I took an educational summer course, did pretty well academically, had a good time with my family. Plus I joined the book lovers’ community and it’s awesome! So wonderful to have a place to rave about the books I love (*coughcough*the Queen’s Thief novels*coughcough*) AND I completed a novel-length, horribly messy draft for the third time and a Draft No. 2.
