Hi, friends! It’s challenge time!
Miri from The Book Dragoness tagged me to join the Three Day Lyrical Challenge. Thank you for tagging me, Miri! I love being tagged for challenges, and I’m looking forward to this one!
- Thank the person who nominated you.
- Share one of your favorite song/lyrics one at a time for three days.
- Nominate three other bloggers each day.
Because December is *Christmas Time* for me, and I’ve also been seeing most people post Holiday songs for this challenge, I’m going to start off with one of my favorite Holiday songs!
I’m a bit of a strange person when it comes to favorite things. All of my favorite songs are very different from each other, and this one is also very different from all of my favorite Christmas songs.
Carol of the Bells
For some strange reason, Carol of the Bells (specifically the Trans Siberian Orchestra version) is one of my favorite songs ever. Across all genres, not just Christmas songs, it’s one of my all-time favorites.
But recently, I heard Lindsey Sterling’s version on YouTube, and since that one doesn’t seem to be as popular, I’m going to share that one instead!
While there are not any actual lyrics in my favorite versions of Carol of the Bells, there are versions out there with lyrics. We can’t have a lyrical challenge without any lyrics, can we?
Hark how the bells,
sweet silver bells,
all seem to say,
throw cares away
Christmas is here,
bringing good cheer,
to young and old,
meek and the bold.
Ding dong ding dong
that is their song
with joyful ring
One seems to hear
words of good cheer
filling the air.
Oh how they pound,
raising the sound,
o’er hill and dale,
telling their tale.
Gaily they ring
while people sing
songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here.
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas.
On on they send,
on without end,
their joyful tone
to every home.
Ding dong ding… dong!
But I’d also like to note that I don’t like this song for the lyrics! 😄 Maybe that’s why I prefer the wordless versions instead?
and… whoever else wants to do the challenge! (I had a bit of trouble finding people who haven’t done this one! 😆)
If I tagged you, please don’t feel any pressure to do it!
Happy reading, everyone! Have a great rest of your December!
